#1 Delicious Podcast with Marko Marinkovic

This is episode number one so let me share the reason, why I decided to record this show for photographers. I live in a village in Poland, far from so called Big World, and I believe I am not the only one. In my opinion there’s far too many photographers who are just too shy to break their own comfort zone, and meet with other photographers to gain some knowledge from them. Internet can break this distance and realizing this fact was the first step for me to think about doing something that can influence live and business of many people like me.

Inviting the first guest to the show was very easy, I knew it suppose to be someone like Marko Marinkovic – excellent photographer, who shoot destination weddings pretty much all over the globe. Delicious Storyteller – New Presets for Lightroom & ACR

On February 17th we launched the three new Lightroom & ACR ( Camera RAW ) Presets Collections – Delicious Storyteller.

We put a serious dose of our effort and professional knowledge into these newly created presets collections. We also considered the most important current needs of photographers regarding post-processing which you asked for.

The three new Delicious Storyteller collections will work great every time there is an interesting story to tell with photography.

We grouped all these new presets into collections by the mood, and different nature of post-processing colors you like.

How to “Enable Lens Profile Corrections” on all photos in Lightroom

The automated lens vignetting and distortion corrections feature was firstly introduced in Lightroom 5. It is simply awesome and makes the lives of photographers one step easier.

However, did you ever try to create a preset which would automate the task of checking the “Enable Profile Corrections” checbox on each image, regardless of the lens used in particular photo?

If you tried, then you know it’s not possible to make it applicable to all the lenses. It’s a fact, that when you create a preset with Lens Corrections enabled, the preset stores the info about the lens profile you choose.

How about the larger photo sets where you have a few hundreds photos and want all of them to have profile corrections enabled?

There’s still a quite easy solution to this problem which we developed some time ago!

Lightroom & ACR Presets – 1.2 update

Two and a half year passed since the last update to our Lightroom Presets. So many things to change during this time and we also matured in our photography journey. The aspects we covered in this update ( 1.2 ) are:

Added Adobe Camera Raw presets in each package
More subtle contrasts and tonal transitions
Balanced, cohesive colors within each collection
Softer settings for sharpening, balanced within each collection
Each preset is now available in two variations: a “+” one with stronger contrast and the “-“, softer version:

Lightroom 6 / CC Presets Compatibility

Adobe Lightroom 6 / CC Release

Yesterday Adobe released new version of Lightroom. This is Lightroom 6 as an perpetual license purchase, and Lightroom CC as a part of Photography CC subscription.

New Lightroom brings us some neat features, like Panorama Merge, HDR Merge, Facial Recognition, performance improvements using GPUs ( always welcome! ), Filter Brush, Improved Web Galleries, Advanced Video Slideshows, etc. ( full list of what’s new in Lightroom )

“Will my Lightroom 4/5 Presets Continue to Work?”

What interests us the most, when using presets, is that the develop engine stays the same as in Lightroom 4 and Lightroom 5. This means there’s no need to rewrite our develop presets. They work totally the same way like they do in Lightroom 4 and 5. You can use additional features given in Lightroom 5, 6 or CC, but our Lightroom presets affect only the sliders which are all the same in Lightroom 4/5/6/CC and they give the same effect in all these versions. The same applies to Delicious Recipes – our fast workflow for Lightroom 4/5/6/CC + NIK Color Efex Pro 4.

No assistant? Lots of gear to handle yourself? A camera, or more, set of lens, lights, modifiers, stands, a generator and of course bags and only two hands. And how about changings locations a couple of times? How cool does that sound?

Anyone of you photographers who struggle with the challenges of managing all the lighting equipment when going out on location should read this. We had a fantastic opportunity to talk to Alex Win, a photographer standing behind a golf cart that turned into a portable light stand. We asked him a couple of questions that could answer some of your questions and give you a hint on how to improve your work.

How 31 Prominent Wedding Photographers Define Their Style

The truth may not be too pleasant. The competition in photography industry is high. Well, the word ‘fierce’ might even be more appropriate. Now, every year there is a new number of ‘professionals’ in the market. Some actually are, some strive to be, some will never be. And then again, there is this question that we may ask: “Will clients clearly see the difference between my work and e.g. ‘uncle Bob’s?”

So how to deal with all that? Is that true that a good photograph can defend itself? That is true, but not entirely. You need to make yourself heard, show the world your fantastic work. The question is how to stand out from the crowd of other photographers marching for the same pie? One of the things that you can do, and to my mind a really vital one, is defining your style of photography. And, believe me, if you fail to do that, then someone else will do that for you. And in such case, it is immensely difficult to break free from the ideas that are already there, in the minds of audiences. And that’s not the point, right?
